Pikes Peak

We learned that purple mountain majesties refers to the Rocky Mountains.  In 1893, Katharine Lee Bates wrote the poem "America the Beautiful" after climbing to the top of Pikes Peak and seeing purple mountains.  The poem was later set to music.  We listened to the song on the way up to the top and we will always think of Pikes Peak when we hear it and of God's awesome creation.
