MORE ALASKA....

Kinzi riding on the bear at the lodge
Kinzi at Flat TopDenali National Park
We spent a total of 8 days in Alaska. We flew into Anchorage and drove 5 hours to Fairbanks. On the way to Fairbanks, we were very fortunate to have a clear and sunny day, so we were able to see Denali. We have driven and flown to Fairbanks before, but have never seen Denali because it was always hidden in the clouds. It is so majestic. After spending the week in Fairbanks (where Leo worked), we headed back to Anchorage, only after spending a couple nights at Mt. McKinley Princess Lodge at Denali National Park. It was up in the mountains and was so pretty, but there was very little to do there (the nearest town was 50 miles away) and reminded me too much of being at a summer camp. So it was nice to get back to the civilized town of Anchorage and hike at Flat Top. While in Anchorage, we saw one real live moose just roaming in someone's yard.
